Who we are

Thank you for visiting us!

We’re a congregation  situated on the picturesque North Antrim Coast of Northern Ireland. Our parish bounds include parts of Portballintrae and Bushmills and the surrounding countryside as well as some of Ireland’s most famous attractions, not least the Giant’s Causeway and the Old Bushmills Distillery.

Many families have been members here for generations. Other people – married or single – have only recently joined. Then there are the “Friends of Bushmills” – the numerous holidaymakers who visit us at all times of the year. Together we worship Christ in traditional ways, while also using the best in contemporary music and modern technology.

Our weekly announcements and recent services are available on our site.

We seek to serve and honour Christ in our lives and in the local community. Whoever you are, you’re most welcome!

The previous minister was the twenty-second in the congregation’s long history, Rev Dr Nancy Cubitt, who was installed in February 2015 and retired at the end of 2022.

The Moderator of Kirk Session is the Vacancy  Convener The Rev Dr Ian McNie.  Standing Sub Committees of the Kirk Session are the World Mission Group and the Youth and Children’s Ministry Group.

All elders are ex officio members of the Congregational Committee, which also comprises a further 13 members who collectively look after the fabric and finances of the congregation.
